Holistic Kinesiology is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is combined with Western techniques to harmonise the natural flow of energy that facilitates well-being. This helps people to overcome deep seated physical and emotional pain, physical weakness, fatigue, anxiety, frustration with life, lack of confidence, fulfilment or purpose.

Kinesiology employs a series of gentle muscle tests to build up a picture of what is going on within the body, and then a combination of individual techniques are employed, such as postural alignment, acupressure points, adrenal calming, detoxifying work, de-stressing and emotional stress release.

Structural work can help painful, tight, weak or imbalanced muscles, as well as alignment and posture.

Nutritional work looks at sensitivities, intolerances and deficiencies, as well as efficient digestion and elimination. It also covers adrenal exhaustion and sugar handling.

Emotional work using investigative tools and techniques encompasses beliefs, attitudes, thoughts and feelings, both conscious and unconscious, relating to the past, present and future, which can trigger anxiety, low self-esteem, unexplained fears, mood swings and phobias

CORE fascial release is all about improving freedom and range of movement, alignment and posture.  The aim is to reduce pain, tension, adhesions, impingements, tissue congestion, postural stresses & imbalances. Aa a qualified CORE III fascial release & massage therapist and Kinesiologist I incorporate neuromuscular techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy into remedial treatments.

Please note that I only work on young adults from an age of 18 upwards.

Background Information

Kinesiology was originally developed by an American chiropractor called George Goodheart.

He found that by testing muscle response before and after he made chiropractic corrections he achieved better results for his patients.

As time progressed he was able to make a connection between various muscles and acupuncture meridians. By testing these muscles the kinesiologist can get a picture of what is happening in your meridian system and how this may be affecting you.

So, kinesiology can be seen as a blend of the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and western techniques which enable a kinesiologist to treat you as an individual.  Each person’s session is unique to them.

Kinesiology uses a range of gentle yet extremely powerful techniques. Kinesiology also allows the kinesiologist to draw on other healing techniques and modalities and integrate them into the session where appropriate and indicated by the muscle response.

"When you touch one thing with

deep awareness, you touch everything."

 Lao Tzu

You will remain fully clothed except for your shoes

The session is carried out with you lying down on a treatment table (unless you are physically unable to, then work can be done sitting down)

No flexibility or strength or contortions required to achieve the muscle test positioning

No test will be done if there is pain or injury in the area

I will lift, position and aid all muscle test placings

I will guide you every step of the way and happy to explain what I am doing and why

These are two names for the same thing and can be interchangeable.  Muscle monitoring is the principal tool of kinesiology.

A limb is placed in a specific position then the kinesiologist applies pressure to that muscle and the client is asked to match the pressure.

This is not a test of the strength of the muscle but of how the muscle responds to the stimulus of the added pressure.  The muscle will either remain in contraction or will unlock.

At no time should the client experience pain or discomfort with the testing.  How the muscle responds gives the kinesiologist feedback and this is used to determine what the priority stresses are and the best way to address them.

I have been seeing Fiona for the last 4 or 5 months and I am very happy with the results. I'd had a fairly stressful year and was conscious that it was knocking my body off balance. Fiona has helped me work through the frustration of the situation and re-balance my body, and I feel a lot calmer as a result. My whole family is feeling the benefits! I would highly recommend Fiona.

I have visited Fiona now for 2 separate issues and I have been really impressed with the way that she works and the success of our sessions together. Fiona is very skilled at what she does and has a wonderfully warm and friendly approach with a huge level of professional curiosity to explore with you what is happening with your body. I have enjoyed both the sessions and the great results. The first time was due to a bloated stomach that was getting progressively worse over 6 weeks and the doctors told me I had IBS and there was nothing much they could do for me as I had no allergies according to the tests they had done. By the time I left Fiona the Bloatedness had gone and did not return. The second session was for my body holding weight around my stomach and hips due to emotional trauma I had been experiencing and this took 2 sessions rather than 1 to put me back on track as there was quite a deep blockage. I highly recommend her and have done so to many people.

Fiona is AMAZING, she really is. Having gone through most of the NHS process without much success she managed to fix my problem within a few weeks. Not only that but she is a warm, caring person who is very intuitive and gives her absolute all in every session. She is deeply compassionate, non-judgemental and a great listener, so that you end a session feeling like she has treated your entire persona not just your body. So it truly does feel holistic and I always leave feeling energised and more alive. I really cannot praise her highly enough and I keep going back even though my initial problem is under control - quite simply because she helps in ways I could not have imagined.

Fiona has been wonderful. She has been such a great support for me. I highly recommend her.
She listens to where I am at with no judgement and has given me tools and support in working through.
Issues. Definitely recommend her!

I cannot recommend Fiona highly enough. I was introduced to her via a close friend and have been a client for about 6 months. During this time Fiona has guided me through quite a few life events and helped smooth all of life's 'rough edges'. I always look forward to my sessions and leave feeling 'restored'. If you have not already discovered Fiona or the world of Holistic Kinesiology, I can highly recommend you try it out and book a consultation ASAP ??.

Fiona is always very warm and thorough. Her treatments are always spot on, I highly recommend.

I will start by saying that I'm was a skeptic!! I first started seeing Fiona about October time…I've tried so many treatments.. Counseling etc I've lost track really of everything in order to deal with what is for me complex issues. I sometimes find it hard to say what is actually going on in my head!
I can honestly say that for me going to see Fiona has been the best decision I have made so far in my life.
I was a mess when I met Fiona..depression, anger issues when trying to express myself, huge issues with my weight, the way I endless list! I still have a long way to go but each visit I make I feel another step towards feeling better and looking more positive at life.
People are now commenting when they meet me how they can see a change and all for the better in me.
All ill say is go for it.. Try it and I guarantee you that you will feel so calm, relaxed, vibrant and just you after a session.
Thanks Fiona for my new lease of life ;o).

I am not new to Kinesiology but I was new to Fiona. WOW. I experienced an immediate change which was much needed as I had a build up of feelings and emotions that were impacting on other areas of my life. We are at the start of a journey and I intend to continue our sessions until I reach certain emotional and physical goals. The conversations we have are just as impactful as the treatment itself so anyone new to exploring this treatment should go with an open mind and open heart as the end result is fantastic.

Alison W  Edinburgh  4 Feb 2015

Amazing!!! Fiona has helped with weight loss, dealing with issues following the birth of my son and preparing for the next, bereavement and gaining confidence to change my job. I always leave feeling relaxed and although the homework (not eating dairy/gluten) can be tricky it is worth it to see the benefits and achieve all goals. Fiona is always happy to answer any questions out with appointments and is well worth the money.

Nathalie R    Edinburgh  13 Jan 2015

I have met Fiona only 5 months ago and I can say her help has been amazing! I wish I had known her before. My health is much better now and I feel a lot stronger. Thank you Fiona!

Ciara   Edinburgh  15 May 2014

I went to see Fiona after suffering with eczema and some other emotional issues for quite some time. After one session I seen a massive improvement in my skin and in my emotional well being as well. The environment was very comfortable and I always left after a session feeling great. I would strongly recommend her to anybody she is a very talented Kinesiologist and also a great person!

Kate  M Edinburgh   9 May 2014

I started seeing Fiona for fertility issues, having seen various alternative therapy specialists over the previous year. Within one session she had identified a major issue for me which no-one else had been able to and I made fast progress. I have found her sessions to be incredibly comforting and I so look forward to them each time - it is almost as though I feel my soul is being listened to! She is able to continually pull things (whether emotional/ psychological or physical) out into the open that I am not consciously aware of and then get rid of anything that might pose an issue. I would 100% recommend going to Fiona. On top of all of that she is just such a lovely person too!

Sinead  Edinburgh  5 May 2014

I've tried many treatments and therapies over the years and Fiona is without a doubt the best. I look forward to our sessions and always walk out feeling so much better. It's so good to know I have Fiona to "fix"me when things go off balance!
